Getting Serious About My Revenue Share Challenge (I want passive income!)

I have decided to make a new revenue share challenge.

I WANT PASSIVE INCOME!!!!!

Ok, not new. Just continue my previous one.

I am not sure what the details will be other than I need it to be simple right now; then after graduation I can hit the ground running.

If you are interested in reading my past posts about the challenge check out my revenue share posts.

I'll check in from time to time; but I simply don't have time to check in every day and I am not sure if I will be able to commit to once a week. You can always "like" my Facebook page or follow me in any of the ways on the right. You will be notified of new posts.

My main focus has been Examiner. 364 articles posted as writing this post.

But, you know how the world of the Internet goes. Things go up and down. There have been some changes at Examiner that seems to be showing me a decrease in earnings (no more international pay, no more pay for grab videos  and it looks like either no more or a change in pay for slide shows, its so hard for me to keep up). I don't have time to write more articles right now so I am seeking out other options to increase my monthly income. Interested in signing up? Do so here.

I am still making almost $1000 a month doing very little work. (in my opinion).

I have been seeing a lot of success for people on Squidoo and even InfoBarrel. So it got me to thinking. Maybe I am not utilizing the web to the best of my abilities. I tried both of them once and got frustrated. Maybe I just need to suck it up and try again.

I also use Bubblews. So far I have only posted a few test articles on my Bubblews aside from using it to share my Examiner content. I am not seeing how it is very useful for backlinks since there isn't a way to hyperlink, you just copy the URL in the body of the article. I do make extra cash just from sharing stuff I already wrote, so I am not going to complain too much. I am trying to write a short piece here and there. Interested in checking out this site and signing up? Please follow this link.

When I find something I want to write about and it doesn't fit my Examiner channels I have been posting them on Digital Journal. If you like to "report" news then this is a great place to be. The owners are very personable and reach out from time to time. I really enjoy this site and wish I had more time to put into it.

Made a new account; finally jumped on the Squidoo bandwagon.

Here is my site: ChrystalM Want to join in too? Click this link.

Old accounts I am not sure what to do with!

Because I don't have a lot of time to write right now I am not sure which ones I will go with. I am thinking about sticking to Examiner and Squidoo for the time being and then slowly working my way back to HubPages or something else.

Here is a list of what I have accounts for:

Helium -  169 articles and they haven't done much. I think this is my fault. While I have a lot of awards there, I don't take advantage of the site like I should. If I spent time rating and writing from the Marketplace, my revenue would go up as well.

Hubpages - used to be my favorite residual site. Then they started idle hubs. Then they made more changed. I had about 100 hubs, I removed the idle ones because I did not want to take the time to rewrite them. Most of them were moved to Helium and some I put on Wizzley (then deleted them.) I now have 19 hubs, which we all know is not near enough to make a sizable income in the residual world. Want to sign up on Hubs? Visit this link.

Slice of the Pie - is a get paid to write music reviews site. I plan to get back to this. I was using it for breaks from writing content. It's no residual, but you can refer people. I added it here because it is a nice break from regular writing.

InfoBarrel - my 1st piece was denied and it sort of irked me since it was a piece that did well at Hubpages. Again, not sure what to do here.

Wizzley - I did alright there with the 13 pieces I had up. But I went through this thing where I felt I had too many accounts and wanted to downsize the "eggs in the basket." That may not have been the smartest move. I did post them on my other rev share sites.  To join click here.

AllVoices - AV is a news account that I opened but have yet to post anything to. Because it is similar to Digital Journal I am not sure if I will use this one; but will post a test at some point to see how well it does.

ePinions - This was my very first adventure into the wonderful world of revenue sharing. My account was started in 2000 and let me tell you - I had no idea what I was doing and it was terrible. I would like to take the time to clean up my mess and rewrite the material there. Maybe revive that account. Not sure. We'll have to test the waters here too. WARNING: The writing here is so bad; it's embarrassing! I DO plan to fix this.

WebAnswers - WA is perfect for those days when you just don't want to write, but you feel like you should do something. It is Adsense based. If you would like to sign up, please do so here.

FireHow - is similar to eHow. I have yet to post here even though I have had an account for years. I am not sure how the traffic is these days, but it might prove to be useful for some backlinks.

So what sites do you use frequently??

NOTICE: The "click here" links are referral links. You are NOT required to use them but if you would like to join me in a challenge and you have enjoyed my website - clicking my links are a big help. Thank you!

    1. It's extremely challenging. I am not sure how good I will be at it; but I figure at this point, it is worth a shot.

    1. Thank you for stopping by. I am still trying to figure out Squidoo. So far, I am not really a fan of how long it is taking me to make any money. Not a big deal, I don't have a lot of time right now outside of school and the time I put in on Examiner. But, I will keep adding articles when time permits.

  3. You are so smart to have a plan of attack for rev share! You have backups if it doesn't fit in Examiner, etc. I need to get more serious about rev share, but it's always a time juggle of course.

    1. It is a huge juggle most times for me. I write where the most money is and when (if) their is time left I might write up something for one of these other sites. I am not expecting to get rich from any of them - at least not now. Examiner pays my bills and I will keep doing that until it goes away. But, I also know people do well with places like Squidoo, so it seems good to open that door and see what it has to offer me.

  4. I am going to check out Digital Journal when I have extra time. I am bookmarking it now from your link. Thanks.

I don't have time for rev share as much as I want to. I barely have the time for one article a day and I don't even have the time to read blogs or comment but I am taking the time because I need a break from upfront and boring articles for a minute. The weekly pay is really good but it is sucking the creativity out of me right now. Oh well, nothing I can do. I have bills to pay and a car to buy so I have to keep at it for now. I am making a couple hundred bucks a month from Examiner and $50 a month from my old Yahoo Contributor articles. I don't write for Yahoo anymore and don't plan on returning but I do like the monthly rev share I get.

My goal for Examiner is $500 next month. I want to do it and am going to try but I have to write 25 articles a week for the new gig to pay the bills. Anyway, great blog post and thanks for the link to DJ. I am going to check it out and see what it is all about. Might sign up and try it too. :)

Oh and I want to try to get back into Bubblews and do what you do for the Examiner traffic.

I think I am going to have to sit down and make a schedule and stick to it. I have this new client and one other main client that gives me weekly work too. I also have Examiner and Bubblews that I am definitely going to stick too. Oh and Squidoo too. Not sure if I am going to do too much with Squid but I sure would like to give it a try. Anyway, I am rambling and need to read a couple more blogs and get to bed so I can get up and do it all over again. First, I am going to write out a schedule and try it. :)

    1. I have days where I am just not motivated. School is sucking the life out of me. Examiner is pretty much my bread and butter so I work it first. If I feel like doing more after I get a few up on there, then I might write someplace else, but that's not the norm. It is going to take me a long time to build up another account of rev. share.

Making $500 a month on Examiner is pretty easy if you have the right channels and the time. I am only doing 1-4 a day, taking days off, and clear well over $500 a month.

My second month I made over $1000. I am hoping that in the summer when I go full time I will make at least $3000 a month.

I don't bother looking for clients anymore. I can't accept most of them anyway. With grad school I cant be tied down to their deadlines.

Good luck. You will get there!
